Some of the many options are detailed below

The DataStrip 2d bar code
is usually 0.75 inches by 3 inches. That area can store 2,100 bytes of information, including multiple biometrics, photographs and text. It can be printed by most standard die sub printers, but must be read by special contact readers from Datastrip. The code is a matrix pattern of very small rectangular black and white areas. Markers down the side and across the top contain alignment information. Details about the stored data are in the header. Full data recovery is possible even when as much as 50% of the bar code has been damaged.

Holographic Overlaminates
An overlaminate containing a “generic” or stock holographic image protects a card from wear, and discourages card tampering or forgery. Creating your organization’s own custom holographic design ensures that your card is truly unique. Custom holograms are extremely difficult and cost-prohibitive for counterfeiters to recreate

RFID

Near Field Communication technology. NFC allows devices to share information via radio signals, that is, contactlessly, when placed near each other.

Philips' MIFARE DESFire provides a convenient, multi-functional smart card silicon solution ideal for mobility, identity and e-government schemes. The chip's core characteristics - Fast, Innovative, Reliable, and sEcure, as noted in the "Fire" part of its name - are supported by a unique combination of flexible memory organization structure alongside impressive high data transaction rates, making it ideal for secure contactless services. All circuitry is contained inside the card.

There are other options utilizing RFID capabilities. SmartTech ID will be pleased to help you determine the most effective solution for your application.

If your application does not warrant the purchase of your own ID equipment
SmartTech ID's Service Bureau can fulfill your card program applications on site with our mobile carding team.

SmartTech ID recommends, uses and sells high quality card stock. It is very important to use card stock that will not damage the expensive components of your printer. Some of the most inexpensive cards are poorly manufactured. Bad die cuts leave rough edges and debris on the surface.

The cards we use are shipped in shrink wrapped smooth processed (coated) packaging and then individually shrink wrapped in groups of 100. Protecting the cards from shipping material contamination and environmental contamination is essential. Use of quality cards results in better looking print jobs and longer printer and ribbon life.

As an authorized FARGO service provider SmartTech ID always uses the highest quality products in all our ID system solutions.
